Title: Plant Controller
Location: City of Industry, CA (Relocation Assistance Offered)

SUMMARY:
The Plant Controller is responsible for managing the financial administration of the plant. This includes, but is not limited to:
1. Providing an accurate and timely month end accounting close.
2. Ensuring proper reconciliations of plant balance sheet accounts.
3. Managing the control environment for the manufacturing location activities.
4. Preparation of meaningful financial reporting and analysis.
5. Coordination and preparation of periodic forecast and annual budgets.
6. Oversight of plant financial team.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
In addition to the below responsibilities, this person will play a critical role in the implementation of SAP as it relates to the City of Industry plant.
Accounting/Control Environment
• Develop and modify accounting procedures & processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness in the month-end close as well as the month-end reconciliation of the balance sheet.
• Familiarity with Corporate policies. Ensure plant policies and procedures are in place and consistent with corporate guidelines.
• Administers internal control procedures and audits to provide reasonable assurance to management that transactions are properly authorized and recorded, that assets are properly controlled and accounted for and the business reputation and integrity of the Company are safeguarded.
• Responsible for communicating and correcting any breakdowns in the control environment.
• Educate plant on importance of an appropriate control environment.
Reporting/Analysis
• Provide timely, accurate and meaningful reporting and analysis of results with the focus on delivering insights toward cost drivers within the business.
• Perform trend analysis and provide Operations information on potential financial risks or opportunities.
• Support Operations in the development and publication of financial Key Performance Indicators.
• Support ad hoc requests for cost estimates of new products/processes.
Planning
• Responsible for coordinating the annual planning process for the plant labor, overhead and inventory loss costs.
• Establish planning processes, templates and procedures for the plant..
• Provide supplementary data (head count, volume, labor hours, departmental spending, etc.) to support budget preparation.
• Support periodic forecasting activities to re-align expectations based on trends and changes in the business outlook.

Travel: 10-20%
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA or BS in Accounting or related field.
• 5-8 years of plant accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of experience as a controller.
• Experience with standard cost accounting and variance analysis.
• Experience in an SAP MRP environment
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (MS Excel and Access).
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge.
• Leadership skills
