POSITION SUMMARY
•The position requires management of the day-to-day Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR or Cash Application) functions for the Domestic Monster Cable and LLC companies. This is a high visibility position in the company as it touches all aspects of internal and external accounts payable. In addition, this position provides Gates & Controls and continues to strengthen internal controls around processes to ensure no profit leakages.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
•Manage all A/P functions and mentor staff of five AP specialists plus one AP lead.
•Manage AR function, staff of three
•Manage high volume fast paced environment of disbursement which includes vendor invoices, employees’ expense statements, check requisitions etc. Invoices include, inventory, expenses, supplies, utilities, etc.
•Provide timely and professional feedback to employee and vendor requests and resolve issues quickly
•Manage AP expense accruals and relevant month-end account reconciliations
•Ensure a high performing team through effective staff development
•Ensure all 1099’s are on file prior to making payments and manage 1099 year end processing
•Ensure past due balances on invoices are resolved timely
•Implement and document process improvements
•Special projects
PERFORMANCE METRICS
The incumbent’s performance will be assessed on:
•Develop performance metrics trend along with the controller and publish them weekly, monthly etc.
oMetrics will include, but not limited to: DPO, number of invoices process per person, cash flow projection, manual checks (ad hoc) issued, etc
KEY RELATIONSHIPS The incumbent will form key relationships with:
•Purchasing
•Treasury (cash flow)
•Accounting
•All employees processing expense statements
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will have the following experience or knowledge in the following areas:
•Must have a minimum or 5-7 years managing large A/P group in fast paced environment.
•Must have good oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all departments and levels within the company
•Must have strong leadership, teamwork and management skills
•Must be proactive, assertive, and creative in resolving problems and conflicts.
•Peoplesoft experience a plus.
CHARACTERISTICS
The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics:
•We are seeking a high energy individual who is going to make a positive changes to strengthen internal controls around expenses.
•The manager should be self starter, develop relationship with other managers to create a harmonious environment yet following policies and procedures.
EDUCATION:
Minimum of Bachelors degree in Accounting with 5 years experience as an Accounts Payable Manager
