Accountants
The Hershey Company is seeking two Accountants for its Artisan Confections Company(ACC), a wholly owned subsidiary that markets premium chocolate offerings, including Scharffen Berger, known for its high-cacao dark chocolate products, and Joseph Schmidt, recognized for its fine, handcrafted chocolate gifts. In this Berkeley, CA based role, you will assist in the coordination of the various accounting functions for the plants, retail stores and co-manufactures. These duties include physical inventory and fixed asset records, production reporting, production standards, manufacturing variance analysis, monthly accounting closing and preparation of account reconciliations, retail and e-commerce accounting and plant performance measures. Additionally, you will participate in the preparation, review, presentation and submittal of annual plan, strategic plan and Business Updates for the ACC; participate in the ongoing development and implementation of various new productivity improvement systems in the ACC plants and the retail stores; and maintain and update fixed asset records for ACC including the plants, retail stores and co-manufactures. You may also be responsible for many other general accounting duties, such as commissions, sales taxes, and accrued liability reconciliations, as assigned.
To qualify, you must have a BS with major in Accounting or equivalent, supported by a minimum 3 years total accounting experience, including working with manufacturing and cost systems and a minimum 1 year experience at the staff accountant level or equivalent. Experience in working with manufacturing standards and cost systems, as well as, knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and Corporate financial policies also required. Ability to work in a team environment and to communicate effectively with others at all levels throughout the organization and report financial/operational results to management will be expected. Financial analysis skills and experience with Microsoft Office Software (Access a plus) a must. MBA, CPA, CMA a plus
