QuickBooks - Financial Statement Designer

I starting using the Financial Statement Designer within QuickBooks Accountant’s Edition. After I did my work in developing some financials for a client, I ran the P&L and the thing didn’t seem to add up. I cannot even get it to match my working trail balance. Please advise.

The Financial Statement Designer (FSD) is just like an excel spreadsheet: it only knows how to add up what is in the column. So to be sure you have captured all the accounts, I will print out a P&L (or any other statement as required) to use as a checkpoint. I eneter the info into FSD, print out and "tick and tie' back to the QB P&L. Anything that is missing, I add. This is foolproof.
